Can Arthritis Drugs Help Diabetes?

Share/Save/Bookmark

It may sound strange, but it’s true. The reason arthritis drugs might help diabetes is because both conditions are caused in part by inflammatory chemicals. A study late last year found that the inexpensive, prescription anti-inflammatory called “salsalate” could lower blood sugar in type 2 diabetics. Does it shock you that a study over 100 years ago concluded the very same thing?

Banning the use of high fructose corn syrup in America would help as well.

Nobody uses sugar anymore, beverages use HFCS 55 which is 55% fructose and 45 % glucose. Baked goods including grocery store baked breads and other goods use HFCS42 which is 42% fructose and 58% glucose.

It's in everything.

What good is it to take medications when you buy spaghetti sauce that contains 9 grams of sugar per 1/2 cup serving?

Think of a sugar cube as a gram of sugar, not put 9 sugar cubes in a 1/2 cup measuring cup.... Not much room for anything else in that cup is there?

I feel that prevention is the way to go, not more medications!

Like cancer all the pills in the world will not help, there is no cure for cancer.

Prevention should be the route taken by the medical professionals and their patients.

Smart food choices work for me since I have no insurance and can not afford a doctor or medications.

Would you mind sharing your "smart food choices" ? I know about HFCS being in every food out there... I just recently was told I'm diabetic. I really try to eat healthy. I'm also disabled. Just wondering. Thanks.
