Foods, Vitamins & Herbs that Boost Your Brain Power

It’s true! You really can eat your way to optimum brain power and continue to feed your brain at any age.

The right foods will help you use your brain to the max, and the more you use it, the more you’ll challenge your brain to grow new cells, create new connections, and improve your problem-solving and memory functions.

How Alcohol Changes Your Brain

I’m sure you’ve heard that alcohol can be beneficial when consumed in low to moderate quantities (about 1-3 standard glasses of alcohol per day), but there are thousands of studies on alcohol consumption and its effects on your health, and researchers still can’t prove that moderate drinking leads to a longer, healthier life.

What they have found, however, is plenty of evidence showing structural damage in your brain as well as other detrimental effects, even when consumed in small quantities.

Conquering Midday Cravings

Q: I've been bringing frozen “diet” lunches to work for weeks, but an hour after eating, I'm starving. I've even started stealing coworkers' snacks from the refrigerator! The other day I heard somebody mention the “kitchen thief,” and I wanted to crawl under my desk. I'm afraid I'm just too lazy to lose! What can I do?

Good Nutrition Can Enable Body to Fight Mesothelioma Cancer

35 percent of all cancer diagnoses can be linked to poor nutrition according to the National Cancer Institute. A Beginner’s Guide to Storing Food for the Recession

Have you ever been hungry? Not just “skipped a meal” hungry, but really hungry. I am talking about the kind of hunger that won’t go away because the cupboard is bare. If you have, you will understand the need to store food. If you haven’t, this is your chance to learn from the experience of others before it happens to you.  Because if you run into hard times, or the store shelves run dry, you will need to have a backup supply of tasty, nutritious food.

Why Should I Take Nutritional Supplements? Don't I Get All the Nutrients I Need From Food?

Simply, no, and allow me to explain.

Questions like these often come up when people see the small bag of pills I take with every meal because it shocks them to see a person of my age and health taking so many pills.  Pills are reserved for sick or “old” people.  Often they ask, “What are those?” and “Are you OK?”  After these questions I spend the next few minutes telling them that our food is filled with nutritional holes, covered in poisons, our bodies are under more stress than ever before, and I’m getting old.

Why Cholesterol May Not Be the Cause of Heart Disease

We have all been led to believe that cholesterol is bad and that lowering it is good. Because of extensive pharmaceutical marketing to both doctors and patients we think that using statin drugs is proven to work to lower the risk of heart attacks and death.

But on what scientific evidence is this based, what does that evidence really show?

Detox Without Stress

Q: Last month I tried a two-week detox diet, and to be perfectly honest, I felt horrible. By dinner on day one I had a dull headache that felt like a mild migraine, and the next morning nausea set in. To make a long story short, I was so miserable I didn't make it past day three. I want to try again, but only if it's possible to ease the pain.
