Energize Your Body With Coenzyme Q10

During the hustle and bustle of this joyous holiday season don’t forget to take time to care for your health. And one of the best ways to promote optimum health all year-round is to ensure that your body has plenty of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10). CoQ10 is the critical foundation nutrient that works at the cellular level to produce massive amounts of energy for your entire body.

However, as you age your body’s natural level of CoQ10 begins to decrease and can drop by as much as 80 percent. Besides aging, this CoQ10 deficiency can be caused by stress, pollution and cholesterol-lowering statin drugs such as Lipitor®, Crestor®, Zocor®, Pravachol® and Mevacor®. As a matter of fact, leading medical journal The Lancet states that “The widespread use of statins—cholesterol-lowering drugs—is of concern because they lower natural levels of CoQ10.”

Whatever the reason for it, a CoQ10 deficiency in your body opens the door to sickness and a variety of health problems. For example, an estimated 62 percent of people with cardiovascular problems are lacking in healthy CoQ10 levels. And your heart uses up to 10 times more CoQ10 than any other organ in your body.

But that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the importance of this critical nutrient. CoQ10 also does wonders for your brain, blood pressure, immunity, energy and your body as a whole. You should know that…

  • As many as 39 percent of people with unhealthy blood pressure have low CoQ10 levels.
  • Approximately 70 percent of fatigue sufferers are deficient in CoQ10.

However, you don’t have to accept a CoQ10 deficiency without a fight. Since your body is unable to produce enough of this all-important vitamin-like substance as you grow older, you can find a quality supplement in a highly absorbable, crystal-free form to boost your levels and protect your health.

Adding CoQ10 to your daily nutritional regimen can, “increase energy production in your heart, help normalize blood pressure, increase energy and improve longevity,” according to physician, scientist and Nobel Prize-winner Linus Pauling, M.D. In other words, increase your CoQ10 levels and the gain is two-fold… your quality of life and your length of life.

The doctor is right as far as he goes but the reader is not likely to know that there are several forms of CoQ10 with varying degrees of effectiveness and the recommended dosage ,particularly for those on statin drugs,is a consideration.Dosage could vary from 30 to 300 mg.depending on the individual situation

Every pharmacutical company has CoQ10, so which one is the most effective at getting absorbed? I have read that CoQ10 made with ubiquinol is absorbed while others are not. I have yet to find this.

Anyone supplementing CoQ10 should use the ubiquinol form (as opposed to ubiquinone). It's better absorbed and more effective.

I nearly died taking CoQ. Each time I tried it I had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. I won't take it again.

I still want to know why CoQ that I used in 1998 gave me such high blood pressures. Sure the use of CoQ to get more energy sounds great but why did it nearly kill me the two times I tried it. I'm scared to try again.

Dear Rabbit, I've read that you will have to be cautious with CoQ when you have lower blood pressure. Maybe thats why it wasnt good for you. I am about to try this supplement to boost my endurance for hockey. Lets see if it works ?!
