New Discovery: Liberation Treatment for Multiple Sclerosis
Dear Pharmacist,
I have a friend with multiple sclerosis (MS) who lives overseas. She used to be disabled, and she tells me she is cured after vein surgery in her neck. She said she had CCSVI whatever that is. I also have MS, but I can’t find a doctor in Florida who knows anything about this. Can you help?

Answer: The procedure is dubbed “The Liberation Treatment” and it’s still experimental here. Our medical establishment moves painfully slow and there’s little incentive to embrace this. Need I say more, or can I just bite my lip?
Allow me to introduce you to Dr. Paolo Zamboni, a Professor at the University of Ferrara in Italy. Have you ever been inspired to learn more about a medical problem because someone you love was sick? That’s exactly what happened to Dr. Zamboni who was trained as a vascular surgeon. A disability now prevents him from working in that capacity. Little did he know that his educational training would save his beloved, and potentially millions more in years to come. Desperate to find a cure for his MS-stricken wife, Zamboni discovered that people with MS have a higher incidence of constricted veins in their neck! Dr. Zamboni’s research is turning the MS world upside down because MS is thought to be an auto-immune disease, not a vascular condition.
CCSVI stands for Chronic Cerebrospinal Venous Insufficiency. This medical term just describes a situation of narrowed veins. Doctors can see the veins with a non-invasive test such as a Doppler ultrasound. Think of your garden hose. If it’s squeezed off, water doesn’t flow. Same with your azygos vein, or your jugular veins. If restricted, circulation is compromised, then blood (and iron in the blood) slowly reflux, and accumulate in your brain and spinal cord, resulting in neurological issues. The excess iron load damages cells. I suspect that other dangerous metals accumulate too, such as cadmium, lead or mercury, but this is just my theory.
I realize we need more studies, but this one gives many people hope. And hope is my middle name.
Zamboni’s liberation procedure takes the kink out of the hose and allows proper blood (and iron) to flow out of the brain, which explains why symptoms might improve within hours. The ‘before and after’ footage of people who underwent the treatment are jaw-dropping! Here’s the television program, which you can view on your computer: A whole new approach to MS Treated patients experienced better coordination and balance, more energy, fewer muscle spasms and a better quality of life.

Do you know of any natural treatments for crohn's disease? My daughter is on humira and she is afraid if she stops taking it, she will have another attack. The last one took 2 years to get under control.
Thank you.

crohn's disease is not really like it sounds. it is just a dietary mistake. cut all carbs now and forever. poof. most if not all troubles are now over. avoid all allergens - corn, wheat, milk and have food allergy testing to see what foods are the possible triggers. keep a food diary in case there are special triggers. read up on this (food allergies, carbohydrate restriction, leaky gut, and i mean read). do not be a follower, be a student. simple sugars are like lamp oil for a lamp regarding crohn's disease patients. cut out the simple sugars and the fire will have nothing to fire with...but also avoid all of those triggers you suspect and look into gluten - it may be the biggest trigger after sugar. also look up what a rotation diet might be. the rotation diet may reveal the triggers, and you might be smiling again for a long time, like others...i learned this from a complimentary physician in NYC - Dr. Robert C. Atkins, M.D. three other ideas come to mind...dysbiosis and yeast overgrowth and mercury. read up on those topics as they may be present or may offer another trigger. read five books - you may realize some of the five books are wrong, so read more. now you are a student and your health is under your own control. do not be a follower - the answers are there. search. natural supplements that helped friends of mine are gastramet, DGL, and peppermint oil (enteric coated). doctor atkins has some great books that he wrote which cover these factors, and why they may be affecting many people who are just eating the wrong food...or have the wrong kinds of micro-organisms resident in their gut. also the friendly bacteria must be included, like yogurt bacteria, bulgaricus and bifidus (there are more).
i provided some key words to look up, and READ about, before you try any changes. it will lead to a trail of wonderment - how simple sugars have started this fire in some delicate tissues, and there are foods that we may actually be addicted to AND allergic to at the same time which serve as triggers. the inflamed gut may have been stripped of the normal helpful organisms that it needs and yeast may be living there, with other out of place organisms. the gut and colon now is already sore, and yeast adds products and toxins there. that is not going to help. a meal loaded with allergens will cause a hyper secretive state after that, and now you are gonna miss graduation. sound familiar ??
#1 stop taking in any simple sugars - probably forever
#2 stop (well known) allergens - corn, wheat, milk, soy, gluten
#3 read
#4 read more
#5 get some of Dr. Atkins books (they might be on your shelf, or the local library) "new diet revolution", "vita nutrient solution", ...
#6 dont eat anything that comes in a box
#7 avoid triggers and sources of yeast (fruit, fermented foods, beer, wine, others) try not to consume wild yeast cells, or foster their growth.
#8 if mercury is possibly present, limit exposure to mercury. yeast seems to thrive when mercury is present.
there are good books on yeast overgrowth and reduction (crook) and food allergies (braly).
atkins has many many books on health and nutrition and remedies. (vita nutrient solution) there ARE answers .
i learned that my dogs ate dog chow, my lab rats ate rat chow. Dr. Atkins taught me to eat human chow. and boy am i glad.

My mom is an 69 yr old MS suferer and we have done the doppler. She is a candidate! Now we have the task of finding the correct cardiothoracic surgeon. We live in S. Florida and know about Dr. Arslan at the Moffitt Center in Tampa. We havent had luck in them calling us back just yet but she is registered. My mom is obviously excited but she is so eager to have the liberation procedure that she thinks of nothing else.
Do you know of any vascular surgeons doing the procedure that are currently accepting patients? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help. Go Gators!!!
J.
